Looking to rank your local business or Google Business Profile in the local 3-Pack of Google Maps, where you have a 95% chance of getting leads, calls, bookings, or sales?
The easiest way to do that is to audit your Google Business Profile, analyse your top 3 ranking competitors already winning your spot, find out what they do that you aren’t doing, and optimise your GBP to outrank them.
And the quickest way I have achieved this is using the GMB Everywhere Chrome extension.
In this updated 2026 review, I will show you what GMB Everywhere does, what changed in Release 7, how the new AI Visibility Search works, where the tool saves time, where it still has limits, and whether it fits your local SEO workflow.
Editor’s update: GMB Everywhere Release 7 now includes a Website Audit, a Rank Check that supports multiple map pins, a GBP Image Generator in beta, and AI Visibility Search in beta. I have updated this review to explain what each feature does and where it fits in a practical local SEO workflow.

What Is GMB Everywhere and What Does It Do?
GMB Everywhere is a Chrome extension designed to give you powerful, real-time insights into any Google Business Profile, directly from Google Maps or Search. In 2026, it became the all-in-one Google Business Profile tool for audit, optimisation, and competitor analysis.
It’s built for:
- Freelancers and SEO consultants.
- Local business owners.
- Agencies that manage multiple GBP listings.
- Anyone who wants to analyse and improve Google Business visibility without expensive software.

When you install the extension and open Google Maps, you’ll notice a clean side panel that appears alongside each business listing.
That panel pulls in valuable, ranking-related data that normally takes multiple clicks or other tools to collect.
This is the same tool I used to audit and optimise my Google Business profile, which moved it from 7th position to number #1, as you can see from my screenshot below
What GMB Everywhere Shows You (In One Click):
When you open a business on Google Maps, GMB Everywhere places audit buttons and useful data close to the listing. You can use it to check the profile, study competitors, review the linked website, test rankings from several map points, create images for GBP posts, and see whether Google AI Mode or ChatGPT recommends the business for important topics.
- It shows primary and secondary business categories.
- It reviews ratings, review volume, review patterns, and keywords used in reviews.
- It checks posting activity, photos, attributes, profile details, and other audit signals.
- It compares website details with the business profile, including the name, address, phone number, hours, and categories.
- It checks whether the website content supports the business services and locations.
- It lets you place several Rank Check pins to see how visibility changes across an area.
- It creates branded images for GBP posts and social media while the Image Generator is in beta.
- Its AI Visibility Search beta shows whether Google AI Mode and ChatGPT mention the business, which competitors appear, which websites are cited, and which missing topics may need better website coverage.

You can use it to:
- Run fast GMB audits
- Spy on competitors
- Analyse what’s working for top-ranked businesses
- Get category suggestions with the power of its AI feature, even if you have no idea which category to use for your kind of business
- Identify gaps in categories, reviews, or posts
And all of this is done right inside Google Maps or Search, without needing to switch tools.
Features I Use the Most (and Why)
After using GMB Everywhere for 2 years, a few features stand out as absolute game-changers, especially when conducting audits or competitor research for clients.
1. Category Finder Tool (AI-Powered)
This is one of my favourite features. The tool uses AI to suggest the most relevant business categories based on your industry and what competitors are using, even if you didn’t think to check those.
Why I love it:
Most businesses are missing out on visibility simply because they chose the wrong category. I don’t have to stress myself trying to find a category for my GBP.
I simply type what my business does or enter my website URL, and it does the magic of suggesting categories with the number of searches each category has.
This tool has helped me spot new ranking potential just by updating one field in the client’s profile.
I once helped a plumbing client move from position 9 to position 2 in the map pack simply by switching to a more specific subcategory I discovered using this tool for GBP audit and optimisation.
Another client didn’t know the exact category to use because what he assumed was his category wasn’t in the list of categories curated by Google Business Profile.
I asked him to describe his business, and he did, and I quickly used this tool to find the exact category that matches his business, which his competitors are using.
So, if you are new to local seo and confused about which category to choose, this tool is handy to save you.
Secondly, I am using the Category Finder to see services and related categories for my chosen category. This is 20 hours of work done in 1 click in a few seconds, as you can see in my screenshot below.
2. Website Audit
The new Website button checks the website connected to a Google Business Profile. It compares the business name, address, phone number, opening hours, and categories on the website with the information on the profile. It also checks whether the website content clearly supports the business services and locations.

This matters because your website and profile should describe the same business. If the profile says one thing while the website says another, Google and potential customers may receive mixed signals. The audit gives you a practical list of gaps to review, but it does not make the changes for you.
Use the report as a starting point. Confirm each issue manually before editing the website. A tool can flag a possible mismatch, but an experienced local SEO professional still needs to decide whether the suggested change makes sense.
3. Rank Check with multiple pins
The updated Rank Checker lets you place as many manual pins as you need on the map. Each pin shows the business position at that location. Green means the business is in the Top 3. Amber means it ranks from position 4 through 10. Red means it ranks at position 11 or lower, or it was not found.

This is useful when you want to see how far a business reaches beyond its immediate address. Place pins in important neighbourhoods, service areas, and areas where competitors are strong. Click any pin to reopen its result and compare the pattern.
Do not describe this as a complete replacement for every geo grid tracker. The pins are placed manually. A dedicated tracker such as Local Falcon may still suit agencies that need scheduled scans, historical reports, automatic grids, or polished reporting across many locations.
4. GBP Image Generator
The GBP Image Generator creates images for Google Business Profile posts and social media. You choose a business, and the tool uses its brand colours while suggesting content ideas. It also provides sizes for Google posts, profile photos, social posts, and stories.

The feature is free during beta, but the vendor warns that the output quality can vary. Check the text, colours, logo placement, image crop, and factual details before publishing. Treat it as a fast first draft, not a final design that can go live without review.
5. AI Visibility Search beta
The new AI Visibility Search checks whether Google AI Mode and ChatGPT recommend a selected Google Business Profile for the topics you enter. For every question, you can read the full answer and see whether the business was mentioned.

The report also names the competing businesses that appeared and lists the websites cited as sources. This helps you see who is winning the recommendation and which third-party websites may be worth reviewing for a legitimate listing or mention opportunity.
When the business is missing from a topic, the tool suggests where to cover that topic on the website and provides example wording you can adapt. Rewrite every suggestion in your own words, confirm that it is accurate for the business, and place it only where it helps the visitor.
The feature is still in beta. Use the result as research evidence, not as a permanent AI ranking. Google AI Mode and ChatGPT answers can change, and one successful mention doesn’t mean every user will see the same business or that the business will receive more enquiries.
6. Review Analysis (Keyword Insights)
GMB Everywhere shows which keywords appear in your reviews, and how often.
This is pure gold when you’re trying to improve local SEO without stuffing keywords unnaturally. As you can see below, “Dentist” is marked in bold to show that this business ranks on that keyword in their review.

Use case:
I helped a local spa optimise for“facial near me” by discovering that their top competitor had 13 reviews mentioning that exact phrase.
7. Basic Audit
When you click “Audit” on a GBP listing, the Basic Audit Review provides:
1. Business Categories Check
- Shows the primary and secondary categories the business is using.
- Let’s compare with competitors’ categories to spot missed opportunities.
2. Review Analysis
- Total number of reviews.
- Average star rating.
- Review frequency (consistency of customer feedback).
- It can reveal if competitors are gaining trust faster through reviews.
3. Post Frequency & Activity
- How often does the business post updates on its GBP?
- Shows the last post date (is the profile active or abandoned?).
- Helpful for identifying competitors that are ranking partly because of content freshness.
4. Q&A Section Check
- Whether the business has Questions & Answers enabled and actively managed.
- Can show missed engagement opportunities.
5. Photos & Visual Content
- Number of photos uploaded.
- Helps assess whether a listing is visually optimised compared to competitors.
6. Business Attributes
- Whether the profile highlights services, hours, accessibility, amenities, etc.
- Reveals gaps where competitors may be providing richer info.
7. Website & NAP Consistency Check (Basic)
- Confirms if the business has a linked website.
- Displays the core Name, Address, Phone (NAP) details visible on GBP.
- Useful for quick data accuracy checks.
8. Category-Based Keyword Insights (Basic)
- Shows which keywords/categories the business may be targeting.
- Allows you to spot whether competitors are better aligned with high-traffic terms.

Use case:
The Basic Audit Review gives a quick, side-by-side health check of any Google Business Profile. It highlights gaps in categories, reviews, posts, Q&A, and content, so you can instantly see why a competitor ranks higher or what’s missing from your own listing
8. Local Scan (on the Maps)
In short, what I (and most marketers) love about the Local Scan feature is that it transforms what could be overwhelming SEO data into a clear, visual roadmap for winning more local rankings and customers.
Use case:
It instantly shows what position your business ranks on the maps and what your competitors are doing better than you on Google Maps.
From the above screenshot, this business ranks #2 in that location for the keyword “Dentist’
9. AI Tools:
These AI tools make it easy to manage a Google Business Profile by generating posts, finding categories, services, writing the GBP description, generating GMB review responses, etc., effortlessly.

GMB Everywhere Pricing: Is It Worth Paying For?
Let’s talk money. One of the best parts about GMB Everywhere is that you can start using it for free, no credit card, no commitment.
But if you want full access (especially for client work or audits), you’ll likely need to upgrade. Here’s a breakdown:
| Plan | Price (Monthly) | Best For |
| Free Plan | $0 | Beginners, solo users checking 1-5 GBP audits and competitor analysis |
| Power Plan Annual | $15/month | Freelancers doing quick audits want unlimited access and audits |
| Power Plan | $30/month | Agencies and consultants are doing high volume and unlimited audits/month. |
You can view full pricing here → GMB Everywhere Pricing
My Recommendation:
Start with the Free Plan to explore the interface. If you’re doing client work or local SEO at scale, the Pro Plan at $15/month pays for itself with just one audit sale.
For context:
I closed a ₦100,000 (~$100+) client audit deal just by showing insights pulled from GMB Everywhere’s PDF export and map overlays.
Tips for Freelancers: If you’re offering GMB Audits as a service, include a breakdown of insights from this extension and deliver them in a branded PDF. It makes you look 10x more credible and positions you as an expert.
Pros and Cons of GMB Everywhere (My Honest Breakdown)
After 1 year of using this tool, here’s my honest take on where GMB Everywhere shines and where it has room to grow.
Pros of GMB Everywhere
1. Saves Time Instantly
You don’t need to open multiple tabs, run separate audits, or hunt for CID numbers. Everything appears inside Google Maps/Search. It’s one-click efficiency.
2. Extremely Affordable
At $15/month for Pro, this is one of the cheapest audit tools I’ve used that actually delivers useful insights.
3. Great for Audits and Outreach
The PDF reports, review overlays, and competitor data help you land freelance clients or upsell existing ones.
4. Beginner-Friendly Interface
Even if you’re not an SEO expert, the layout is intuitive. No learning curve. You just click and view insights.
5. AI-Powered Category Suggestions
This is a major competitive edge, especially when most businesses unknowingly select the wrong categories.
Cons of GMB Everywhere
- The main workflow still depends on Chrome, so it may not fit teams that use another browser.
- The free plan has usage limits, so active freelancers and agencies may need a paid plan.
- The Website Audit finds possible consistency and content gaps, but it does not replace a full technical SEO audit, citation cleanup, or manual expert review.
- The multiple pin Rank Check is useful for quick visibility checks, but a dedicated rank tracker may still be better for scheduled scans, history, and formal client reporting.
- The Image Generator is still in beta, so every image needs a quality check before publication.
- AI Visibility Search is also in beta. Its answers can change between checks, so compare the result over time and do not report one mention as a stable ranking.

Who Should Use GMB Everywhere (and Who Shouldn’t)?
Not every SEO tool is for everyone, but GMB Everywhere covers a wide range of use cases. Here’s how I’d break it down based on experience:
GMB Everywhere is Best For:
1. Local SEO Freelancers & Consultants
If you’re offering Google Business Profile audits, optimisation, or competitor research, this tool gives you everything you need in one view.
I use it to win clients by showing proof of what’s wrong with their listing and how competitors are outranking them.
2. Digital Marketing Agencies
For teams managing multiple GBPs, it simplifies research, reporting, and internal audits. The PDF exports alone make client deliverables easier.
3. Business Owners Doing DIY Local SEO
If you’re a restaurant, salon, or repair shop trying to understand why you’re not showing in the 3-Pack, this tool helps you analyse your own profile against local competitors.
4. Cold Outreach Pros & Lead Gen Experts
Use the audit insights to send personalised emails to local businesses with low ratings, wrong categories, or poor optimisation.
GMB Everywhere is Not Ideal For:
- National or eCommerce-only businesses
If you’re not targeting local customers, GBP optimisation tools likely won’t help your visibility. - SEOs needing technical audits (site speed, schema, etc.)
This is not a full-stack SEO tool. It’s hyper-focused on Google Business visibility.
Conclusion
GMB Everywhere is no longer only a quick GBP audit overlay. Release 7 connects the business profile, the linked website, ranking visibility across an area, and early visibility research in Google AI Mode and ChatGPT. The Image Generator also gives small teams a faster way to prepare post graphics.
I would choose it for quick audits, competitor research, prospecting, map checks, and an early view of AI recommendations. I would still use specialist tools when I need citation management, deep technical SEO, scheduled rank tracking, or long-term reporting across many locations.
It’s a super useful tool and one of the most underrated Chrome extensions for local SEO. If you are ready to try it,
